Deborah Dana – Safe & Connected: A Polyvagal Guided Path for Re-Imagining our World
Salepage: Deborah Dana – Safe & Connected: A Polyvagal Guided Path for Re-Imagining our World
Description
Nervous system to nervous system, we are connected to each other and the planet. Now more than ever we need to find safe ways to connect to each other to heal individually as well as have important conversations with those we disagree with. The only way to find our way into safe and compassionate communication is from a state of autonomic regulation.
Polyvagal Theory gives us a roadmap for understanding how we are human and offers a pathway forward in these challenging times. When we learn to be responsible for our own regulation and travel the autonomic pathways of connection, we send messages of safety into the world. With a commitment to the active, ongoing use of our regulated energy in service of healing, we can begin to reimagine our world one nervous system at a time.
Objectives
- Determine how to use your own autonomic nervous system to create an environment of safety for your clients and others.
- Practice how to help your clients listen to their internal state and let go of their problem story.
- Analyze how to reliably guide your clients from state to state and enhance their capacity for self-regulations.
Outline
- The autonomic nervous system as a basis for creating the optimal environment for communication and healing (autonomic conversation)
- Creating a state of co-regulation to overcome differences and face difficult clinical conversations
